What is ‘Certified Pre-Owned’
and How does it Affect Me?
Used, pre-owned, certified pre-owned, what does it all mean? Chances are if you’ve ever been on a dealership website you’ve seen these terms thrown around quite a bit. Thankfully, Vernon Nissan is here to explain the difference between ‘Used’ and ‘Certified Pre-Owned’ vehicles, and which one is the best choice for you!
‘Used’ Vehicles
‘Used’ vehicles, also called ‘pre-owned’ vehicles are exactly that: vehicles that have been previously owned and driven. That much is obvious, but here are a couple points that you might not know. Firstly, every used vehicle undergoes a simple inspection to ensure they are in running condition. There is also no warranty offered on these vehicles unless they are new enough that some of the original factory warranty remains. Finally, these vehicles may be any model or from any manufacturer.
“Certified Pre-Owned” Vehicles
A Certified Used vehicle, or Certified Pre-Owned (CPO), is different from a used vehicle in that it comes with many of the advantages of buying new. These vehicles undergo a stringent inspection to ensure they look and feel like new. They are also offered with a Certified Pre-Owned Warranty that extends the factory warranty to ensure years of trouble-free motoring. Buying a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle is like buying new, only for less!
