Nissan has just unveiled the pricing list for the 2025 Versa, and the first thing to note is that it remains, once again, the most affordable car in the country.

This year, the average purchase price for a new vehicle is around $66,550, which is staggering. The rising popularity of large SUVs and trucks, along with the discontinuation of many affordable models, are key factors driving this trend. Nevertheless, there are still more accessible options available, such as the Nissan Versa.

$23,394

That’s the cost of the cheapest car in the country in its base trim. For this price, you still get a decent set of standard features, including lane departure warning, heated side mirrors, and more. If you’re looking for more features, there’s the SV trim at $25,144 or the SR trim at $26,544. Between you and me, the price difference isn’t significant enough to settle for just the base model.

A few years ago, you could still buy several models for under $20,000. In fact, just a decade ago, some cars were available for under $10,000—a fact that seems almost unbelievable today, but it was true. The market has changed and evolved, and now $23,394 is the minimum amount required to purchase a new vehicle.

A Good Car

Fortunately, you don’t necessarily feel like you’re compromising with the Versa, unlike the Mirage or Micra when they were the least expensive cars on the market. The 2025 Nissan Versa remains a very comfortable car, with impressive soundproofing.

The Japanese automaker’s small sedan is powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. Nissan reports an average fuel consumption of 7.4L/100km in the city and 5.9L/100km on the highway. Thus, in addition to being the most affordable car on the market, it is also one of the most fuel-efficient.
