In March-May, Kelowna experiences warm temperatures with highs around 20°C and lows around 8°C. This time of year is great for outdoor activities such as hiking or cycling, but make sure to dress appropriately for the colder temperatures at night. Although there is a slight chance of rain during this time of year, it is usually mild and short-lived.

June-August is usually hot and humid in Kelowna with highs around 27°C and lows around 13°C. This is a good time to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary – remember to take precautions against mosquito bites! August tends to be the wettest month of the year with an average total rainfall of 134 mm.
September-November sees cooler temperatures with highs around 13°C and lows around 4°C. This is a great time for walks or hikes in nature but remember to bring along appropriate clothing (including sunscreen) if you plan on venturing out into public areas like parks or malls during these months. November also sees an average total rainfall of 36 mm which makes it a good time to prepare for winter!
During the winter months (December-February), Kelowna experiences cold temperatures with highs around 1°C and lows around -3°C. During this time, it is important to keep yourself warm by wearing layers and staying hydrated. February averages about 23 mm rainfall totals while May sees 45 mm monthly rainfall totals. June through September generally have around 44 mm monthly rainfall totals respectively. And finally, winter sees around 3 mm of monthly rainfall totals on average.
When it comes to wind speed and direction in Kelowna during September through March, northeast winds are strongest while northwest winds are weakest during this timeframe. Winds tend to be more stable during April through June when they fluctuate between east and west directions approximately 50% of the time respectively. In July and August wind speeds increase as southwest winds predominate during these months at around 60%.
Overnight low pressure systems often cause showers or thunderstorms in Kelowna beginning in early October which can last until late November or early December depending on how active it is. Occasionally from late December into early January wind speeds can pick up again as a cold air mass moves into town.
